How to Apply
The T. Howard Foundation is a non-profit organization that partners with major media companies to provide paid full-time summer internships in the multimedia and entertainment industry to minority students. The Foundation defines minority students as those who self identify as African-American/Black, Asian/Asian-American, Latino/Hispanic, Multi-Racial, Native American, Pacific Islander or South Asian.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
1st Deadline: October 31st
Final Deadline: December 1st
The path to becoming a T. Howard Foundation intern starts with completing the online application. This competitive process consists of two phases:
Phase One – Application Review
Phase Two– Interview
Phase One - Online Application
Start the process by creating an online profile. The application requires the online submission of:
Unofficial College transcript
Contact information for a recommendation
Resume
Two essays (1 page each)
$10.00 non-refundable application fee
After the application is submitted and all required documents received, applications are reviewed by our review committee. Applicants scoring high enough will be moved to Phase Two.
Please Note: Resumes must not be more than one page (view sample 1, sample 2).
Phase Two - Interview
The Phase Two interview is a 20-30 minute interview that allows applicants to discuss their interest in the program. It is an opportunity for the interviewer to learn more about you. The interviewer looks for:
- Demonstrated interest in a career path
Ability to communicate effectively
Delivery of your message
Professional conduct during the interview
Interviews are conducted via telephone, Skype or in-person. Students interested in participating in an in-person interview are strongly encouraged to apply early. In-person interviews are conducted in New York, NY or Washington, DC only.

Phone or Skype interviews are conducted by appointment daily. Students scoring high enough on the interview will be accepted into our Final Talent Pool. Selection as a member of the Final Talent Pool does not guarantee an internship.
